Building Trust Through Storytelling
UT Health San Antonio: Community Health Video
Client: UT Health San Antonio (internal project)
Sector: Academic Healthcare
Role: Director, Creative Lead, Voiceover Talent
Project Type: Internal Communications | Health Literacy Video | Patient Engagement
The Story
As part of an internal initiative to enhance community outreach and health literacy, I led the development of a patient- and employee-facing explainer video that highlights UT Health San Antonio’s commitment to accessible, inclusive care.
The goal was to demystify the clinical experience during the pandemic and speak directly to internal constituents as well as South Texas populations — using clear visuals, simple language, and a human tone.
Objectives
Clearly explain the range of services available through UT Health’s community clinics
Reassure and inform first-time or hesitant patients
Emphasize affordability, language accessibility, and welcoming care environments
Create an evergreen video asset for use in outreach and education
My Role
Directed the concept, script development, and overall tone
Oversaw visual storyboarding and scene transitions
Served as voiceover talent for both English and Spanish versions to ensure cultural relevance and consistency
Collaborated with clinical stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with health equity goals
Outcome
The video was successfully deployed across patient education platforms, digital signage, and social media — and continues to serve as a welcoming first touchpoint for new patients across the region.
